It’s hard
to believe it’s time for the D Event, but it will be here before we know it! .
This rally gives our Great Lakes Region D’s the chance to “strut their stuff” and
show friends and family how much they’ve progressed in the last year. D Event is also a fun filled,
end-of-the-summer, family weekend and a great learning experience for all. So…let’s support our D’s!!!
Highland
Hills Pony Club is planning another exciting D Eventing Rally at Belle River
Farm. We were fortunate to find
All
riders need to be very comfortable handling their ponies on their own and in
the open. The cross country course is really terrific but it’s a big change
from riding in an enclosed arena. DCs
and parents, please use your best judgment with regards to the safety of our
D’s.
As with any rally, we’ll be highly dependent on able and
willing volunteers. Eventing rallies
always need even more than the usual number of volunteers, so Mom AND Dad
(aunts, uncles, grandparents…) please sign on!!! Thank you ahead of time for your assistance!
Thank you
very much for your thorough and timely entries! We look forward to seeing you
all soon.
See
YOU at the rally!
Best to all,
Barbara Day

Mixed rating teams are encouraged (also mixed ages) to support our newer and/or younger members. Inexperienced teams may bring (or request) an advisor. An advisor is a C-or-above-rated Pony Club member who directs but does not do the work of the team

Individual participants must be able to independently care for themselves
and their mounts (with the assistance of their team members, advisor and horse
management judges). They must be able to
safely and independently ride away from the barn AND IN THE OPEN. They should come prepared to learn and to
have FUN!
Parents: Please remember that the rally is for your children to show what they have learned. Relax and enjoy being a volunteer (see attached form). The NEUTRAL ZONE is the place to go to leave a message or items for your child. Remind your child to check the neutral zone for notes, food, etc, during the rally.
Chaperones: Each team must have an adult chaperonE available on the rally
grounds whenever the barns are open. They should complete a Chaperone’s Duty
Form and in doing so know the rules - see page 3 of the Eventing Rulebook. Chaperones
may not serve as a volunteer.
Volunteers: Each team must supply a minimum of three volunteers. Volunteers may be C-level-or-above
Pony Club members, parents of competitors or other willing adults. Each volunteer must complete the volunteer
sign-up form. If you are signed up as
a coach, please do not sign up as a volunteer also. Volunteers play a key role in the successful and timely progression of this rally and in the full enjoyment of pony club. Thanks for your support! Volunteer briefing: Sat @ 8 am, Sunday @ 8:15am
