2011 piroplasmosis update PDF Print E-mail
As of 4-1-2011, horses coming IN to Michigan from Indiana do NOT have to be piroplasmosis tested.  They still must have a health certificate (which is good for 30 days),  and a negative Coggins test within the last 12 months. Horses coming IN to Michigan from Ohio must still be tested negative for piroplasmosis in the last 12 months, have a health certificate WITH A STATEMENT OF NO EXPOSURE OR TICKS (which is good for 30 days), and a negative Coggins test within the last 12 months.  The specific wording on the statement can be found at www.michigan.gov/mda.
